The Sunday Currently: #51

Here's to the night we felt alive, sort of.

WRITING
Nothing at the moment, but come this week I have to brace myself and finally finish the draft pilot script that I've been trying to work on since last week.

LISTENING
Rebel Rebel by David Bowie

THINKING
How my body isn't used to staying up late. It takes me a full day to freaking recover from going out (aka grab dinner and drinks) and sleeping late. My octagenarian self say freaking hi.

SMELLING
For some weird reason, my hands smell like fabric detergent. Weird because I didn't use any of that when I did my laundry earlier.

WISHING
For a peaceful Holy Week here in the city.

HOPING
For better days for my bipolar self.

WEARING
An oversized shirt and undies aka my cleaning attire at home.

LOVING
My new eyeglasses. It's one of the two pairs of specs that this semi-blind girl needs to wear this year. Here's the second pair before I bring it to the optometrist for some lens change.

WANTING
More like craving some salmon sashimi and lots of sushi!

NEEDING
Let's not go there, for now.

FEELING
Lethargic but I got to shake it off so I can start cleaning my kitchen.

Where do broken hearts go? Sa panaderya.

READING
Currently alternating between Mizuki Tsujimura's Lonely Castle in the Mirror and Jhumpa Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies.

LISTENING
Human by Rag n Bone Man

WRITING
I won't lie- I've been working on a script for the past two weeks and it's taking me ages to fix and polish it. I'm currently working on my second draft and I'm trying to push myself to finish working on it already because of deadlines.

THINKING
How I can convince myself to finally start cleaning the apartment before it turns into an annoying and disgusting pigsty for both me and my cat.

SMELLING
A mix of various laundry detergents, fabric conditioners, and bleach while I type this inside the laundromat.

WEARING
An old dress and braless because I cannot be bothered with dressing up while doing the laundry.

LOVING
The fact that I went to the beach last weekend. Talk about spur-of-the-moment decisions during the pandemic, right?

I ended up with the worse sunburn, fucked-up jellyfish sting, and dealt with a head-numbing period migraine, but it was all worth it.

WANTING
An iced cold drink because the summer heat is being a mother effin bitch, and for my jellyfish sting to stop itching because FUCK IT'S ANNOYING ME ALREADY.

NEEDING
A whole lot of energy in order to adult today. AAAAHHHHH.

FEELING
Bloated, among other annoying feelings.

The Sunday Currently: #49

Yep, it's been ages since I wrote about my Sundays. Hope you're having a better weekend than I do.

READING
I decided to join the Goodreads reading challenge again, but with a more realistic reading goal now.

I started reading slow this year, but I'm happy to report that I've managed to finish two books already: Hiro Arikawa's The Travelling Cat Chronicles and Tara Westover's Educated. Both books made me cry, though the latter turned me into a huge ball of feelings, among other things. For my third book, I'm alternating between Born a Crime by Trevor Noah, Lonely Castle in the Mirror by Mizuki Tsujimura, and The Paris Library by Janet Charles.

LISTENING
Numb Little Bug by Em Beihold

WRITING
Well, it's more like trying to finish the presentation outline, and work on the actual PowerPoint thingy for a talk I have to give on Tuesday, International Women's Day. Which means...

THINKING
I am trying so hard to not freak about the fact that I - a woman, a minority - will be talking on the sole day when the world recognizes women; their contributions, success, and struggles in society. Again, I am trying not to panic. Hell no...

...LOLJK. WHO AM I KIDDING!? HUHUHU.

SMELLING
The rice that I'm cooking in my rice cooker and the oreo cookies in front of me.

WEARING
Underwear because it's pseudo-summer weather here in Manila already. OMG #noshame

LOVING
The fact that I gave in and finally bought myself a real wallet. Real in the sense that I purchased a legit leather wallet, on an impulse though, because it was on sale. Genuine leather for 50% off? My frugal self got excited LOL. Jokes aside, I am very much happy with it. The chestnut color makes it look so posh and sophisticated, don't you think?

NEEDING
A cold shower, a huge ass iced coffee, and for my brain to cooperate because I need to be productive today because if not I. AM. SO. DEAD.

PMS-ing in my 30s is bloody hard, I tell you. Emphasis on bloody hard.

WATCHING
I've recently discovered silent travel and food vlogs on YouTube and I am absolutely loving them! Who knew watching someone's day in a life in 15-minutes or less can be so calming and comforting?

I usually watch them every morning while having coffee or during lunch break as a work distraction, or after work to help me decompress after work. Well, it's mostly the latter, to be honest. I've been working from home for quite some time already and these videos kind of help me stay sane... well, something like that.

Aside from these, I also rediscovered my all-time favorite info topic videos: Japan Video Topic.

I used to watch them on free tv back in early 2000. Usually, they were shown either on channel 13 or channel 9. The videos were mostly about Japan (duh!); their culture, people, technology, among other things. Think of it as an infomercial of sorts with a length of around 4.5 mins long (or sometimes less), with English narration and dubbing (for the interviews) too.

Content, length, and information-wise, they were all interesting to watch. Their YouTube channel contains both the old videos and newer ones too. The narrator still sounded the same so that definitely made it nostalgic to watch. Also, the videos introduced me to Japan as a kid, and they made me want to visit one day. I still haven't figured out how to go to Japan, given the pandemic and all, but I hope I'll get to fulfill that someday. #manifesting

LISTENING
My Cherie Amour by Gene Russell

THINKING
How I can lessen my suffering every time PMS hits me. The pain was freaking shit yesterday that I was mostly in bed the whole day. And I had to sleep for 12.5 hours because I was in P-A-I-N. And mind you, this is only my pre-menstrual period phase. OH BOY!

SMELLING
A variety of laundry detergent and fabric softener because I am inside the laundry shop as I type this.

WISHING
That the coming (work) week won't be tiring and busy because working from home is starting to hit me differently now. Not that I am saying that I'm not productive, I actually am more productive while working from home most of the time. I used to hate WFH when I was younger (during my freelancing days), but now I kinda am enjoying it. I guess it comes with age...?

But okay, I won't lie. Knowing the fact that I am at home every-freaking-day, I feel like cabin fever is about to eat me alive now, too. HOMG.

HOPING
Let's not go in there. For now.

WEARING
An oversized t-shirt, cycling shorts, and slippers because it is raining outside.

LOVING
The iced cold pineapple juice I got from 7-Eleven. Fiber, natural sugar, and a cold drink to ease my headache: check!

Also, I finally got myself a new mug. I broke my old one three weeks ago after I bumped it off (very stupid, I know!!) the kitchen counter while cooking. I've been using another ceramic tumbler of mine, but I find it too big to use. Also, it's giving me a reason to drink too much coffee, too. So, I finally dragged my sleepy ass to the mall earlier to buy one. My choices were pretty limited though given the stores that were open and all. But I managed to find this kawaii ceramic mug with Japanese Sakura hand-painted on them.

The mug is color green (or was it matcha green of sorts?), and I got a small pink tray-ish kind of plate to go with it... just because! LOL.

WANTING
A few things like another cold shower when I get home, and a bowl of hot ramyun topped with cheese and dumplings. And maybe a warm hug, too.

NEEDING
I badly need a massage, a haircut, and a wax. No shame about the last one.

Mentally, I am here. Emotionally, I am elsewhere.

READING
My attention span is still a bit shitty AF, but I've managed to finish a few books. These were different books from the list that I wrote about the last time. Eeep!

8. Crying at H Mart, Michelle Zauner
9. Thirty Things Every Woman Should have and Should know by the time she's Thirty, Glamour Team
10. Convenience Store Woman, Sayaka Murata
11. Tokyo Ever After, Emiko Jean

Out of the four books, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Emiko Jean's YA novel. It reminded me of two films: The Princess Diaries and What A Girl Wants. It was an easy read that I managed to read in one sitting.

In case you're curious about the books that I've read so far, check out my Goodreads 2021 reading challenge. So far, I have finished my 11th book. I still have seven books that I can read before I hit my goal of 18 books for this year. I have to be honest though, it's a tough commitment to keep!

Feel free to share with me what you're currently reading, too.

WATCHING
I wanted a good cry the last so I tried watching Disney and Pixar's Soul. And I'm not going to lie, I cried like a baby almost the entire time.

LISTENING
Always Alone by Sandra van Nieuwland

THINKING
How I can convince my brain to stop being lazy because I need to take a bath and start cleaning my apartment.

SMELLING
My 2nd cup of piping hot coffee and the ramen noodles that I ended up overcooking. Oops!

WISHING
Let's not talk about it, for now.

HOPING
That work won't swallow me alive this week, and that I can finally get my vaccine! C'mon, universe! Let's make the latter happen, please.

WEARING
An oversize shirt and undies. I haven't taken a bath, okay. Don't judge me.

LOVING
The somewhat cool weather and the silence in my apartment (except for the noisy vehicles and the construction from the nearby building that I can hear from my window).

WANTING
Well, let's not talk about this either.

NEEDING
A lot of things! But let's begin with something more realistic: motivation to get my lethargic self to get moving and clean my apartment before me and my cat end up living in a pigsty.

FEELING
I am really feeling lazy and lethargic since yesterday. I feel lucky that I managed to get myself out of the bed tbh.

The Sunday Currently: #46

Oh, hi! This is me attempting to fulfill my x year of promise to write more. Oh boy!

READING
I am proud of this year because I have finally decided to rekindle my love for reading. For Christmas last year, I bought (on a whim!) this subscription-based library catalog thingy -which I discovered on Facebook- where I can download and read ebooks on my phone. The low-tech person in me thought it was a bad idea, but the depressed person in me won. And hey, it costed me like less than 5 dollars, so it was kind of a steal since I was told that it was a lifetime subscription.

For the past six months, I am pleased to report that I have managed to finish reading seven books:

1. Maybe You Should Talk To Someone - Lori Gottlieb
2. Men Without Women - Haruki Murakami
3. 56 - Bob Ong (this one though is a physical book)
4. The Sun is Also a Star - Nicola Yoon
5. Fat Chance, Charlie Vega - Crystal Maldonado
6. Yolk - Mary H.K Choi
7. Dear Girls - Ali Wong

Currently, a few books are in rotation on my phone library: I'm reading Thirty Things Every Woman Should Have and Should Know by the time she's 30, by Pamela Satran (plus editors from Glamour magazine). I feel like I ended up reading this because of... existential crisis? Or maybe it's a subtle cry for help? Or both!?

I also started reading Anthony Bourdain's A Cook's Tour just because miss seeing/watching Tony on TV. I rarely tell people about this but he's one of the reasons why I had the balls to go back into producing. It's because I thought I could do make a show like No Reservations. I'm insane, I know.

Another book on my to-read pile is Amy Morin's 13 Things Mentally Strong People Don't Do. Last year, I came across her book after I re-activated my Scribd account during the first month of the pandemic lockdown. I ended up listening to her audiobook while cleaning my apartment. I wasn't able to finish the audiobook so I tried to search for it on the catalog but to no avail. So, I ended up buying a pdf (or was an e-pub?) version... on Lazada! Ha!

The last book on my growing reading list is Himalaya: A Human History by Ed Douglas. I have to be honest though, I haven't finished reading the books' introduction because my attention span started dwindling. Having said that, I'm not sure if I'll manage to finish any of the books on my current reading list. Again, oh boy!

WRITING
Well, does updating a CV count?

WATCHING
Given my shitty attention span, I honestly can't believe that I managed to watch three different films. I finally had a chance to watch Crazy Rich Asians, Wonder Woman 1984, and the Mortal Kombat reboot.

Crazy Rich Asians was fun! Akwafina gave me a good laugh, while the movie- in general- gave me a reason to have a good cry. As for WW1984, I can't believe I'm saying this but I kinda didn't like the movie's plotline. I had to watch it twice just to figure it out. And for Mortal Kombat... well, it took me three attempts to watch it. Let's just put it that way.

THINKING
How I'll manage to convince my bipolar brain to go to sleep tonight because I have work tomorrow!

SMELLING
The dark hot chocolate on my big mug, and my bath soap on my hands since I just came out of the shower.

WISHING
That I get to do something different and exciting for my birthday this year?

HOPING
That the coming week won't kill my body and my brain cells.

WEARING
Sleepwear aka, comfy white t-shirt and undies.

LOVING
The somewhat cool weather tonight and the silence in my apartment (except for the noisy vehicles I can hear from one of my windows at this hour)

WANTING
Uhm, let's not talk about it.

NEEDING
Let's not talk about this either!

FEELING
I still feel sick, exhausted, and still a bit pukey from yesterday's migraine shit. I swear PMS headaches are a bitch!

Bedtime stories anyone?

READING

I've been in stuck in a funk for a while (and some series of unfortunate events made it worse!) and I've tried so fucking hard to fight it. But in the past few months, I somewhat managed to shake it off with the help of leisure reading.

It started with me re-reading some of my books after I moved into my new apartment; 1) The Bridges of Madison County, 2) American Fuji, and 3) Eat Pray Love

As for books 4 & 5, I finally(!!!) bought a copy of Smaller and Smaller Circles while a friends' girlfriend gave me a copy of Norwegian Wood. The former I finished reading in a week or two, while the latter I read one weekend (perks of being bed-ridden I suppose?). Right now, I'm currently inching my way through The Virgin Suicides.

I won't lie though- I'm still not ok. But the fact that I can feel a bit of happiness and sunshine in my life after doing it is probably a good sign. Right?

WATCHING
I'm guilty of binge-watching a bunch of stuff over at Netflix; there's catching up on Queer Eye (again, perks of being bed-ridden!!) that made me cry lots (or maybe that's the effect of my painkillers!?) and then I gave in to some rom-com like Ali Wong's Always Be My Maybe and Christina Milian's Falling Inn Love.

And oh, here's a shoutout to Netflix PH for finally having some of my old-time favourites like Matilda, Space Jam and White Chicks! I'm just waiting for the day that they finally get the license of Legally Blonde. HAHAHA!

Anyway, if there's one thing I'm excited to watch that would be Amazon Prime's upcoming anthology series: Modern Love. In case the title rings a bell, the series is based on the weekly column of essays submitted by readers to The New York Times, “Modern Love,”

Amazon dropped their second series trailer and it (still) crushed my fragile heart. </3

LISTENING
Soon You'll Get Better by Taylor Swift feat. Dixie Chicks

Yup, I'm listening to Taylor- judge me for all I care. Lol

THINKING
About work deadlines and how to achieve them all without killing myself.

WEARING
A blue t-shirt, white pants, and flip-flops

SMELLING
The coffee from the espresso machine behind me and the hollandaise sauce that I'm licking on my fork while I type this.

NEEDING
Some self-care like a really good massage (I have to wait until my period is over!), and to exercise (I have to wait for my wound to totally heal), and a therapist because I need to take care of my self and my sanity.

WANTING
My regular appetite back! Also, I badly need a warm, tight hug and a good cry.

FEELING
Nah, let's not talk about it. All I can say is that I'm a huge ball of emotions right now and I'm this inch close in exploding.

The Sunday Currently: #44

As I type this, I just realised that this is my last weekend as a 20-something. And by saying that, I'm starting to feel like I'm about to reach...my death sentence of sort.

Ok, ok, that was a bit morbid. My bad!

*

WATCHING
Actually, it's more of re-watching the movie I watched last month: Pokemon Detective Pikachu

Excuse the fangirl in me, but I just can't help it really! I grew up watching Pokemon, I've learned and played all of the Pokemon Gameboy versions, and I've probably memorised almost all of the Pokemon characters based on their animal type, among other things. So when I heard about the movie, the 12-year old girl me got a bit excited. I didn't have any expectations about the movie as well, so if you want to ask me if I liked it, I'll obviously say yes.

Just don't ask me to comment on certain scenes, SFX, etc. Hahaha!

Oh, just to be clear though - I'm fangirling over Pikachu, the Pokemon, and not over Ryan Reynolds!

LISTENING
Too Much by Carly Rae Jepsen

This song is sort of driving the Cancerian in me a bit crazy. LOLJK.

THINKING
Nah. Let's not go there.

WEARING
An oversized white shirt, pink shorts, and a headband bandana.

SMELLING
The Vicks vaporub that I rubbed on my nose because my flu is still being a nasty bitch.

NEEDING
Since I'm about to enter my 30's, I need to be more conscious about taking care of myself starting with my physical appearance. To be honest, I still don't know how to use cosmetics- with the exception of lipstick and mascara- so I've been sporting a bare, au naturel face for as long as I remember. That said, I need to figure out how to look like a decent human being while I work out on my internal struggle with make-up, among other things.

I noticed lately also that my body became more sensitive too. My face became prone to breakouts now while my skin suffered from rashes and hives. Because of that, I was forced to change cleansers that I've been using since time immemorial. I only had one concern though- I had to make sure that my alternatives are budget-friendly!

I've changed my body cleanser; from a regular body soap, I'm using a baby(!!) milk soap. As for my facial wash, I had to find one that suits my oily-combination skin. The first one (not in photo) I've tried using is a Nivea facial scrub that helps exfoliate my face but without drying my skin, as well as help lessen my pores. But because it's currently out of stock, I tried using Human Nature's balancing facial wash. From what I read, the product is cruelty-free and vegan as well which is nice.

As for the rest of the facial cleansers I use, I'm a fan of Celeteque Alcohol-free toner because it has Witch Hazel and it helps solve any acne problems I get especially during my period. As for the last item on the photo, well yes you've read it right. It's my anti-aging night cream that I've been using since last year. Please don't judge me for it!

Based on the photo, that's my usual night cleansing routine. As for my morning routine, I still use the same items, except for the overnight cream. I'm too lazy in the morning, which I know is a bit of mortal sin, so again please don't judge me!!

HOPING
That I'll survive the last weekend of the month, as well as the last few days of my 20's, and of course, make it alive and sane when I turn 30.

WANTING
A big tub of ice cream and some BFF French fries.

FEELING
Lethargic and hungry.

Happy Easter everyone!

WATCHING
One of the perks I get from work is that I get to discover content on new media platforms, one of them is iWonder. iWonder is new SVoD that offers a variety of content; from thought-provoking documentaries, to engaging biographies and investigative thrillers, and from across the spectrum of history, sports, science and tech, religion, art and nature.

screenshot taken from here

Currently, it's being offered in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. But thankfully, they had a partnership with iFlix last year, so people like me here in Southeast Asia can stream and download their content. And speaking of which- I guess that means I would need to renew my iFlix subscription it for this.

And of course, my sunday's wouldn't be complete without binge watching my favourite YouTube channel: Britain's Got Talent!!

BGT never fails to make me laugh especially at times when I need some cheering up.

LISTENING
Hey Jude by The Beatles

THINKING
About how much cleaning I've managed to do today! I started cleaning around lunch time; from moving my stuff and sweeping, to scrubbing the floor, clean the windows, scrub the kitchen counter, and the bathroom tiles and toilet bowl. Don't get me wrong though, I try to clean my place every weekend, especially my bathroom. But it's been a month since I moved in, so the place is due for a general cleaning. Also, I finally(!!!) folded and hanged my clean clothes and put away the soiled ones.

It took me two sweaty hours to finish and I took a shower after that. But oddly enough, I can still smell the bleach in my hands.

WEARING
A blue t-shirt, skirt, and a ballet flats aka decent clothes because I need to go to Church after I eat and type this.

SMELLING
Since I'm in a cafe right now, I can smell a variety of things; the coffee from the espresso machine, the honey I just poured on my french toast, and I think I can smell pizza that's either being made or served.

LOVING
One would be the fact that I've finally managed to clean (refer to the thinking one!), while the other would be the Holy Week long weekend. I stayed mostly at home these past few days and it's been very peaceful, since there weren't a lot of people in our building. And that said, I'm already having a separation anxiety with it. HOMG!!

NEEDING
Another long weekend! Loljk. Kidding aside, I need to motivate myself to exercise again. I've actually managed to go out for a jog two days ago, and it felt good! So now the question for myself would be is: when will I do it again? Ahaha. Ahuhu.

On a serious note though, I do need to finish working on an online application I have to send before the 26th also. EEEEEPPPPP!

HOPING
That I'll survive the last weekend of the month. But the most immediate one would be... surviving the week of my monthly period, aka WAKE UP EARLY AND NOT FEELING LETHARGIC!!!

WANTING
To carbo-load, like always, because of my period. #nothingnew

FEELING
Hungry!!!

WATCHING
I'm still living the offline life although in a different way. Since I don't have any cellular signal nor internet connection at my apartment, I've been a bit dependent on downloading stuff via Torrent(!!!). I've managed to watch a few films like Ocean's Eight, Mission Impossible: Fallout, and Coco.

Oh, I do have to admit- I'm sort of guilty of watching Ocean's Eight maybe twice during the weekend where I was unpacking my stuff, cleaning, and binge eating until 2am.

Of all the scenes that I liked in the film, this has got to be my favourite. I mean look, Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchett looks adorable together. I'd definitely ship these two if the real plot line of their characters was them being a lesbian con-couple. LOL!

And speaking of binge watching, I've recently re-discovered another childhood series that I loved online: Cardcaptor Sakura! Netflix Japan came up with two new series: Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear cards & Sakura cards. Apparently the premise of the new series begins where Sakura is in middle school and she is tasked to capture a new set of cards.

I tried to watch it on Netflix via VPN but couldn't- HUHUHUHUHU- and it isn't available yet on Netflix Philippines so I tried searching for it on torrent. I've managed to watch episodes 1 & 2 of the first series. And I still have to figure out how to watch the rest! AAAAHHHHH!!

Excuse my fangirl-ing heart for a second here. Please don't judge me!!

LISTENING
While You're Out Looking for Sugar by Joss Stone

THINKING
About how I let my hungry self binge eat on too much (bad) food over the weekend. I've managed to stuff my mouth with onion rings, bacon & egg, and dimsum in one sitting. Can you believe it??

I'm both happy and annoyed about it.

But ok, Imma share a little PSA as well: In case any of you find yourselves craving for Onion Rings in Katipunan, there's this roadside burger place selling legit ones for 35 pesos. And it taste better than Burger King!!

Anyway--

WEARING
An odd combination of a white collared shirt, an old jogging shorts, and flip-flops.

SMELLING
Nothing. Zero. My flu is still giving me a hard time smelling my french toast, my coffee and even myself. Ah fuck this!

LOVING
The slow and quiet weekend that I'm having.

NEEDING
If we're talking about immediate things, that would be having another cold shower and to finally do my last chore for this weekend, which is to do laundry. As for the stuff I need for long term would be; figuring out how to get a bed, an induction stove and a fridge for my apartment. Here's one thing though, I'm still 50-50 with the idea of having internet installed actually.

HOPING
That Monday wouldn't be hectic, and maybe if I'm gonna file a work leave it'll get approve. Just saying, universe! Just saying.

WANTING
A cold glass of Sangria, or maybe a pitcher.

FEELING
Still feeling sick and blue because of my flu and cough. And ok, I've been feeling a lot of things lately as well.

If I'm an advocate for anything, it's to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. The extent to which you can walk in someone else's shoes or at least eat their food, it's a plus for everybody. Open your mind, get up off the couch, move.” — Anthony Bourdain

READING
Since I'm on a social media detox, I went back to reading long form content via Medium. I've been trying to read books again but my attention span is not cooperating with me. It sucks and I hate it!

WATCHING
I've been living the offline life these past few weeks and it's been amazing! I went out to watch A Tale of Three Cities, one of the films that was shown during the recent Spring Film Festival, as well as catch the Manila production of Duncan McMillan's play, Every Brilliant Thing.

image taken from here

A Tale of Three Cities follows the real-life love story of Jackie Chan's parents in war-torn China. It’s your typical love story; man meets woman, they fall in love, and then the primary conflict arrives, where our heroes are challenged to overcome it and let love conquer all.

Most parts of the film were moving, but there were some parts that seem to be a little confusing especially when the story begins to steer away from the two characters. Thankfully, Sean Lau and Tang Wei, the film's lead actors, managed to provide the beating heart that jolts the film alive with their undeniable chemistry. But okay plot concerns aside, the film's cinematography and scoring were amazing so I'm not complaining anymore. LOL!

Two weeks after that, a former teammate of mine invited me to watch Every Brilliant Thing. The play is about a young girl who creates a list about a million of every brilliant thing about life, every time her mom comes back from the hospital from trying to commit suicide.

The lead actress for the manila production was Teresa Herrera and I loved how she made the play interactive by making the audience be part of the play. Teresa and Director Jenny Jamora is hoping that through their show, they can help promote conversations about mental health and well-being here in the Philippines.

For those who haven't seen #EveryBrilliantMNL yet, their show is extended until March 3, 2019. You can get your tickets via TicketWorld. Check the link here.

LISTENING
Wasabi by Little Mix

THINKING
I'm thinking about a lot of things but I'm not ready to talk about it right now. I don't want to say anything that might be taken out of context, among other frustrating things.

Here's one thing I can say for now: All the ugly things you say, come and say 'em to my face.

WEARING
Since I'm currently outside, I have to look decent. So I'm wearing an olive green blouse, denim shorts and rubber shoes.

SMELLING
I'm inside a cafe as I type this, so I'm smelling a variety of things. Like the French toast and the freshly brewed coffee in front me, as well as the french fries from the table on my left.

LOVING
The slow long weekend! I'm trying to enjoy it while it last since the next long weekend I'll be having would be by April.

NEEDING
To be honest, I need a lot of things right now. But the most immediate one would be Patience. Not just buckets of it, but like an ocean of it if possible.

HOPING
That I'll survive whatever is in store for me this 2019. I know it's going to be a busy and rough year for me... well according to my Chinese astrology that is. But kidding aside, these past two months has already brought an intense amount of stress in my life already and I'm having a hard time dealing with it. I'm this close in giving up already really.

WANTING
A good cry and a tight, warm hug.

FEELING
Awake because I just had two cups of coffee today. Bad move, girl. AAAHHHHHH!

CLICKING
On the links that a friend sent me. One of them was the link about yesterday's Gospel reading because I sort of complained after the mass that I didn't understand the connection of the priest's Homily to Gospel. To put a better context, it was about doing good to those who have hurt you (especially your enemies)while the priest started talking about politics and the upcoming elections in the Philippines.

See what I mean?

WATCHING
I'm currently binge-watching on reality shows of sorts. Hahaha! I'm actually a fan(!!??) of reality shows like America's Got Talent, Britain's Got Talent and The Voice. As for the latter, I'm a bit obsessed with The Voice Germany, Holland, Belguim, and France. I'm also watching The Voice Kids of Espanya, Germany, France, and Holland too.

And I swear to God, watching the contestants- especially the kids- are making me jealous AF. I mean, they sound like they're already on autotune or something. Like really!!

Seriously, it's insane you guys!

LISTENING
...Or more likely singing and shamelessly dancing to Mareng Whitney's, I Wanna Dance With Somebody. The song has been stuck in my head since last week and my officemates hate me already because it's playing on my Spotify. HOMG!!

But really, the song is just so catchy, right??

THINKING
How to figure out the new stuff/apps/thingy on my phone! I've had my phone for the past six months already and this is the only time that I decided to update its software. And now it looks like this! It looks... cute! AHAHA.

To be honest, I haven't really played and figured out my phone until now. Don't judge my noob self for saying that, ok? I mean, I've been using an Android for quite some time already and I'm becoming 50-50 with it if I were to compare it with an iPhone. Aha aha aha! But kidding aside, I've been pretty dependent on my phone lately and it's pretty much keeping up with me too.

I just hope I can still keep up in paying my phone bill though. LOL!!

WEARING
An old college t-shirt, a short skirt and the cute brown sandals that I got on a sale. Short story though about that sandals: I wasn't able to wear it afterward because there was a typhoon during the week, of which made me realize that those sandals were meant to be worn during summer only.

Anyway.... so much for being practical there! [INSERT LOUD CRICKET SOUNDS]

SMELLING
The brewed coffee on my mug and the warm banana chocolate muffin in front of me. Perks of working at my favorite cafe, yo!

LOVING
The fact that I managed to exercise thrice last week! I'm considering that as an important achievement because I haven't exercised for like nine freaking months, and I've gotten sick a few times this year too. So cheers to this small victory of mine. WOOT WOOT!!

NEEDING
And that being said, I need a whole lot of motivation to keep the exercising momentum on point! Well, except when I get my period though. Then probably I get a pass... and stuff my mouth with ice cream! HAHAHAHAHA!

HOPING
That the universe will conspire and will be kind enough to grant me good news this coming week! Thy will be done, Lord! I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for this!!!

WANTING
For good news, good vibes and a warm tight hug!

FEELING
Sleepy because I had a long and tiring day yesterday. But the smell of coffee is trying to trick my brain and senses to be awake.

The Sunday Currently: V39

Yup, I'm still alive and kicking folks. And I have to thank caffeine and antibiotics for that.

WATCHING
I haven't watched any films, with the exception of Black Panther and Tokyo Project, lately. So I have been very much dependent on Netflix. I've discovered Queer Eye recently and RuPaul's Drag Race, as well as re-watching Glee again. I've also watched some stand-up comedies series of Jo Koy, Dave Chappelle, and the one of Hannah Gadsby of which made cry lots after watching- oh my lord!

I'm still a sucker for good documentaries so I've got Unusual Cultures, Wild Japan, The Traffickers, and this series called Top 10 Secrets and Mysteries that I've downloaded. I usually watch an episode or two before sleeping at night. Talk about Netflixing and chilling, right? LOL.

And speaking of docs, Netflix just premiered an original documentary called #CityofJoy. It presents powerful stories about healing, hope, and joy, of the women survivors of gender violence in Congo. The documentary is beautiful yet heart-wrenching. Check out the trailer below.

LISTENING
On shuffled songs courtesy of my Spotify's Daily Mix. Currently, Snow Patrol's Just Say Yes is playing.

THINKING
How the weekend is about to end in a few hours and it's a start of a brand new work week. Aka, IT'S MONDAY AGAIN PEOPLE!!

WEARING
An oversized t-shirt and cycling shorts.

SMELLING
My dinner (which consist of scrambled eggs and rice) and the cold wintermelon milk tea on my mug.

LOVING
The slow weekend I'm having. The past weekends have been a bit crazy and hectic so I'm making the most out of this quiet weekend by catching up on naps, eating, and reading. Hahaha!

NEEDING
A whole lot of motivation to get my brain, body, and bum to exercise again. I feel (and shamelessly look!!!) like a freaking hippo right now. WTF. WTF. WTF!!!

HOPING
That the coming work week will be less hectic and crazy. And that we won't lose internet connection (I'm looking at you, PLDT!) again in the office. I can handle tight deadlines but losing internet connection while working is just effin insane!

WANTING
A pint of ice cream! Ever since my amoebiasis incident, I've been avoiding dairy(!!!!!!), alcohol, oily food, spices, among other things, that make my meals delicious! Don't get me wrong though, the positive side of it is that getting sick forced me to eat healthy again- that I'm not complaining! But really, ice cream is like my happy food!

I JUST MISS ICE CREAM GUYS!!! HUHUHU 😭

FEELING
A bit hyper because I had iced coffee earlier. I need to shake it off my system so I can sleep early tonight.
