#WorldPoetryDay

Whether we admit it or not
we find ourselves dealing with silent demons
during days when our head becomes restless,
until it starts feeding us with
unnecessary thoughts and feelings.
Or times wherein our head feels light,
and our body suddenly feels numb and exhausted.

It’s a shift that we, at some point, cannot understand.
You try to shake it off, but couldn’t.
You try so hard to fight it off, but couldn’t.
Until we end up crying for help.

But sometimes, it feels like we’re just shouting out to the void –
greeted with silence,
answered with emptiness,
and reminded that sometimes there are struggles
that we end up battling and figuring out
on our own. And all we can do is hope
that we emerge out of it – from whatever it is – alive.
