So You Want To Be Interesting?

Let's admit it, we all want to "be interesting." We want to be that kind of person where everyone can connect and if possible, be inspired of.

Easy said than done, right?

But here's the thing, to be that kind of person can be a challenge. Having that attitude and outlook isn't easy to do, especially for most of us. We find ourselves asking how we can be someone entertaining, sensible and even thought-provoking to other people, in the most simplest way.

So I'm sharing this awesome article written by Jessica Hagy on Forbes. I hope this inspires everybody to strive and become interesting, regardless of who and what kind of person you are.

GO EXPLORING
Go ahead and explore, whether its ideas, places, opinions. The inside of the echo chamber is where all the boring people hangout. So go out there and seek!

SHARE WHAT YOU DISCOVER
So you (re)discovered something, that's cool! Now make the most out of it. Also, why not be generous too. And by generous, I mean share your adventure with others. Not everybody went exploring with you. Share your stories and let other people live vicariously through your adventure

DO SOMETHING. ANYTHING!
Curious about something? Then by all means do it! Dance. Talk. Build. Network. Play. Help. Create... It doesn't matter what you do, as long as you're doing it.

Do note: Sitting around and complaining is NOT ACCEPTABLE form of 'SOMETHING'. So do yourself a favor and get that head thinking and feet running.

EMBRACE YOUR INNATE WEIRDNESS
News flash: No one is normal. We all have our quirks that makes us different and stand out from the rest.

So whether you can sing the alphabet backwards, you can touch your nose using your tongue or whatever, DON'T HIDE THEM. Instead BE PROUD OF THEM because this MAKES YOU INTERESTING.

HAVE A CAUSE
Because if you don't give a damn about anything, no one will give a damn about you.

MINIMIZE THE SWAGGER
EGOS get in the way of ideas, same goes with ARROGANCE. And these attitude can be a hindrance for your talents and expertise to be recognized.

GIVE IT A SHOT
Try a new hobby. Take a chance and switch careers. Play around with an idea. Yes, it can be scary. And it could be risky (at some point!), but then again you'll never know (if it will work positively for you) unless you try.

And hey, if you never leave your comfort zone, you won't grow.

HOP OFF THE BANDWAGON
If everyone else is doing it, you're already too late to crash party. So, why not DO YOUR OWN THING. Chances are, others will hop and join in if you're able to build yourself.

If you need more convincing, revert back to the previous point.

GROW A PAIR
As Sara Bareilles sings,

"Say what you want to say and let the words fall out. Honestly, I want to see you be brave..."

Bravery is needed to have contrary opinions and to take unexpected paths. And being brave means you believe in something, therefore you are pursuing and fighting for it. And that's a beautiful and courageous thing to do.

IGNORE THE SCOLD
BORING IS SAFE, and you will always be told to BEHAVE YOURSELF. The scolds could have, would have should have. But they didn't. Don't let these stop you from being yourself or even your adventures.
